Occupancy Sensors automatically turn lights on when a room is occupied and off when a room is vacant. Although simple in concept Occupancy Sensing is probably the single most effective energy saving strategy. Energy saving could not be easier!
Occupancy Sensors are an elegant, effective and simple first step to improving the use of energy in your building.
Typical applications:
EPV's revolutionary approach to sensorhead design has delivered an impressive improvement in sensitivity and reliability. The primitive “Motion Sensing" approach with very large and bulky sensors has now been successfully transformed into a real Presence Detection. So to speak, Occupancy Sensors are premium, very sensitive Motion Sensors. Motion Sensors in contrast are simpler and less sensitive (and often much larger) and can be used when larger amplitudes of motion are available (such as in corridors or driveways). They do not operate reliably in demanding applications, e.g. persons working concentratedly at a PC who only move their computer mouse.
You have to try it to believe it. Although EPV sensors are almost invisible in the ceiling, their sensitivity is dramatically higher than most other sensors currently on the market. At the same they are practically immune to mistriggerings due to electromagnetic interferences or drafts of air through the sensor.
